Coming Soon
![]() This year is gearing up to be an important publishing year, and not just because of the newest Dan Brown release. As publishers and booksellers struggle to reinvigorate the market, readers will be treated to a number of spectacular new offerings both from tried and true authors and from future bestsellers.
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl coming to stores December 1st! Product Description from Amazon.com "There were no surprises in Gatlin County. We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere. At least, that's what I thought. Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong. There was a curse. There was a girl. And in the end, there was a grave. Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever. Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them. In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything."
The Boy in the Dress

For 15-year-old Wisty and her older brother Whit, life turns upside down when they are torn from their parents one night and slammed into a secret prison for no reason they can comprehend. The New Order, as it is known, is clearly trying to suppress Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Being a Normal Teenager. But while trapped in this totalitarian nightmare, Wisty and Whit discover they have incredible powers they'd never dreamed of. Can this newly minted witch and wizard master their skills in time to save themselves, their parents--and maybe the world?" due December 14th! Featured

For those that might be interested Rick Riordan's Book, Percy Jackson and the Olympians : The Lightning Thief, has been made into a move and is scheduled for release in Feb. 2010. I have an article that has the trailer with it if any one is interested. Heres the link. http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474977779375

I'm so excited for the movie! But I noticed on Riordan's blog (thanks for alerting me to it) that the movie will diverge from the book. any thoughts? is it okay for movies based on books to vary from the story? and how far is too far?
